BIOGRAPHY
Byron Obed Nufio Ortiz
Byron Obed Nufio Ortiz was born in Guatemala on December 7, 1980, at 5:40 p.m., as the first of six siblings. His birth occurred twenty minutes before the traditional “Quema del Diablo” (Burning of the Devil), a Guatemalan celebration symbolizing purification through fire and renewal. This symbolic context early marked a disposition toward the transformation of paradigms and openness to new ways of thinking.
Early Education and Family Environment
He began his academic formation at the age of six at Adrián Inés Chávez School, located in the Colonia Primero de Julio, Zone 19 of Guatemala City (Zone 5 of Mixco). There, he learned to read and write while living with his maternal grandmother, alongside siblings, uncles, and great-grandparents, within a broad and formative family environment.
His paternal family also lived in the same neighborhood. His paternal grandfather, a Rosicrucian Master, Inspector at the Ministry of Labor, and Evangelical Pastor, exercised a profound influence on his ethical, spiritual, and philosophical formation, transmitting principles of discipline, public service, and humanistic reflection.
Secondary Education and Humanistic Formation
He completed his secondary education at the Benedictine Educational Center, of the Benedictine Catholic Order. At this institution, he consolidated a humanistic, philosophical, and disciplinary foundation oriented toward critical thinking, introspection, and the pursuit of knowledge—hallmarks of the Benedictine educational tradition.
Technical Training and Secondary-Level Degrees
He later graduated as a Business Administration Expert (Perito en Administración de Empresas) from the School of Public Administration Lic. Manuel Gregorio López Santiago, becoming part of the first generation of Business Administrators in Guatemala. Prior to this cohort, the only administrative degree available in the country was Public Administration. With this generation, the institution was transformed into the School of Business Administration. Byron graduated with honors, serving as flag bearer of his class.
In parallel, he earned the degree of Bachelor of Science and Letters from the Instituto Mixto Indolatino, as well as Certified Public Accountant (Perito Contador), consolidating three secondary-level degrees:
Bachelor of Science and Letters
Business Administration Expert
Certified Public Accountant
University Education and Teaching
He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, where he later served as a University Professor, teaching courses related to administration, systems, and organizational analysis.

He worked as Director of the Benson Institute for Agriculture, Faculty of Agronomy, Brigham Young University, where he was part of the Central American Socioeconomic Development Committee, chaired by USAID.
He has served as a Financial Auditor and Computer Systems Auditor for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as for BDO Panama, Google, and Wix.com.

She was a candidate for senator and studied Chemistry and Biology at the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, becoming the first woman in her family to earn a university degree.
A great-aunt was appointed Senior Accountant by the President of the Republic in recognition of her significant contribution to the Ministry of Finance.
On his paternal side, his family has been closely linked to public service, spirituality, and ethical formation, consolidating an environment of high moral, intellectual, and professional standards.
Initiatic and Philosophical Domain
Within the initiatic and philosophical domain, Byron Obed Nufio Ortiz holds the title of Maestro Illuminati, a path that began during his formation at the Benedictine College of Guatemala, where he was introduced to classical philosophy, symbolic thought, and the Templar tradition.
The Illuminati Order of Guatemala is composed primarily of professionals graduated from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, linking this initiatic tradition with solid academic, scientific, and humanistic training.
He is also a member of Universal Freemasonry since July 4, 2017, integrating principles of reason, ethics, symbolic geometry, and moral order as foundations for understanding human, organizational, and universal systems.
